Admitted to 14th Field Ambulance, 6 May 1918 (derangement of right knee joint: accident), and transferred to 4th Casualty Clearing Station; to Ambulance Train, 7 May 1918, and admitted to 12th General Hospital, Rouen, 8 May 1918; transferred to 72nd General Hospital, Trouville, 11 May 1918; to England, 24 May 1918, and admitted to Military Orthopedic Hospital, Duceene Road, Shepherd's Bush, London, 25 May 1918 (derangement of right knee joint: severe); transferred to 1st Australian Auxiliary Hospital, Harefield, 5 September 1918.

Marched in to No 2 Command Depot, Weymouth, 7 September 1918.

Commenced return to Australia on board HT 'Marathon', 18 November 1918; disembarked Fremantle, 20 December 1918; discharged (medically unfit), Perth, 2 February 1920.
