Medals |
Military Medal 'For gallantry and devotion to duty. During the capture of LIHONS by the 10th Battalion on 11th August, 1918, Pte. PEARMAN was in charge of a party of Signallers who connected the front line Companies to Battalion Headquarters by telephone under heavy shell fire. Heavy enemy shelling continually broke the line but he repaired it time after time until he was badly wounded in the eye. His coolness and daring in following close up in rear of the advancing Companies enabled communication to be quickly established, and his splendid behaviour throughout the day undoubtedly proved a great incentive to the men of his section to do their best.'
