Proceeded overseas to France, 21 November 1916. Wounded in action, 8 June 1917 (shell shock). Transferred to England, 10 July 1917, and admitted to 4th London General Hospital, 10 july 1917; transferred to 2nd London General Hospital, 20 July 1917.
