Meritorious Service Medal 'For continued excellent work and devotion to duty, both in and out of the line, throughout the whole campaign. This Warrant Officer rendered especially conspicuous service whilst in charge of detachments working in the advance of August, September and October 1918, and during his three years and nine months of service in GALLIPOLI, EGYPT and FRANCE, he has, by his cool, unerring judgement and fearless behaviour, set a splendid example and inspired with confidence all with whom he came in contact.'
