Tried by Civil Court, Nottingham, England: found Guilty of stealing a cash box valued at £7.10.0; sentenced to 1 month's imprisonment with hard labour. Wounded in action (second occasion), 16 September 1918 (gun shot wound, left ankle). Commenced return to Australia on board HT 'Burma', 14 December 1918; discharged, Melbourne (medically unfit: disability not stated), 30 March 1919.
