Military Medal

'During the operations of 8th and 11th August 1918 east of AMIENS and the attack on RAINECOURT and FRAMERVILLE, this man acted as Company Runner under most trying circumstances. During 9th, 10th and 11th August communication was difficult owing to heavy enemy shell fire cutting the wires. In order to keep in touch with the flanks from Battalion Headquarters this man bravely made repeated runs through the enemy barrage.'
