Tried by Field General Court Martial, 23 November 1917 on 23 November 1917; found Guilty of disobeying a lawful command; sentenced to 6 months' Imprisonment with Hard Labour.

Court of Enquiry, 20 June 1918, declared 'that No 7256 Pte Permakoff N. 4th Bn, having cast aside his arms and in the act of deserting to the enemy was deliberately shot down.'

Not eligible for war medals.
