Military Medal 'For conspicuous gallantry as a signaller during the attack on the lines near BULLECOURT on 3rd May 1917. He ran a line out to the first objective which he reached shortly after its capture. After repairing the line several times and running a second wire he ran a third line to the next objective under very heavy Machine Gun fire for more than 400 yards.'
