Meritorious Service Medal 'This N.C.O. during the period of February to September, 1918, and for 2 years previously, has acted as Company Quarter-Master Sergeant, has participated in all engagements, and has personally seen to the comfort of his men in the Line under all conditions, and out of the Line. Though it was never part of his duty to see hot food brought to the Front Line during an action, C.Q.M.S. Pitt has never failed to do so.'
