Medals |
Military Medal 'For the purposes of a report for the Army Commander on captured German defences in the HINDENBURGH Line sent Sergeant PLANT forward to obtain particulars of dug out locations and conditions of the various trenches in the newly captured area. Apart from the heavy shelling which was proceeding Sergeant PLANT carried a great deal of this work in shallow or almost non-existent trenches under close view of the enemy. In spite of this however, Sergeant PLANT carried out the work thoroughly, and brought back much reliable information that was of the greatest assistance in checking my own reconnaissance for the report. Sergeant PLANT has freqently carried out difficult tasks of this nature since the division arrived in France and is an extremely valuable N.C.O.'
