Military Medal 'During the period 23/28th October 1917, near ZONNEBEKE, East of YPRES, L/Cpl. POTTER was in charge of a squad of stretcher bearers. During the whole period he displayed the utmost gallantry, and on two occasions when it was impossible to get through the barrage with a squad of bearers, he went out and single handed brought in wounded men. When his squad became too exhausted to carry on, he still remained on duty, dressing the wounded in the open and afterwards carrying several to safety.'
