Military Medal

'This man acted as a stretcher bearer when the regular stretcher bearers were too busy to go forward to the most advanced positions of the Battalion. together with Private Flavin he did splendid work, carrying men at all times whether quiet or when the area was being barraged. he was instrumental in removing many wounded to a place of safety and I recommend that he be awarded the Military Medal.'
