'During the operations round BELLICOURT on the 29th September 1918 Lance Corporal PRATT was detailed to carry an urgent despatch to Battalion Headquarters. Notwithstanding a heavy barrage which had to be negotiated, he delivered his message in very quick time. he conveyed several other messages during the day under equally trying conditions, and in spite of the heavy fog and enemy shelling, he successfully delivered his messages to their correct destinations. His conduct throughout the day was of a very high order, and his work was of the utmost value.'
