Military Medal 'This man was the first to volunteer for a reconnoitring patrol which was required to clear up a doubt as to where an enemy machine gun was situated, during the counter-attack on March 26th near NOREUIL. He went out under heavy fire and discovered that the position was being vacated by the enemy, and returned with this information.'
