Military Medal 'At VILLE-SUR-ANCRE near ALBERT on the night 14th/15th June, 1918 this N.C.O. was in charge of 14 O.R.'s who formed the party to make the right entry in a raid consisting of 1 Officer and 48 O.R.'s against 3 enemy posts. On leaving the "Jumping Off" tape, 5 of his party became casualties and 2 more very early in the move forward. On reaching the enemy trench he found that it was vacated and a position in rear was held. With one man he charged the post and himself killed 3 germans. An enemy post to his right was then located and immediately engaged by Sergeant PRIME and his companion. Six Germans were killed and one taken prisoner. He then rejoined his party and succeeded in getting them back to our own trench without further casualties.'
