Meritorious Service Medal 'From the formation of the Battalion in March, 1916, until January, 1917, this N.C.O. did consistent good work, especially in the heavy fighting at POZIERES and first battle of the SOMME. From January, 1917, until present time he has been Battalion Orderly Room Sergeant and his work has been very efficient. He has proved extremely zealous and conscientious, and rendered valuable assistance in the administration of the Battalion.'
