Tried by District Court Martial, 8 January 1915, on charge (1) whilst in confinement making a false statement; (2) wilfully making a false statement on attestation; found Guilty, sentenced to 6 months' imprisonment with hard labour and to be discharged with ignominy; sentence commuted to 28 days' imprisonment, 7 May 1915. Commenced return to Australia on board HT 'Ulysses', 20 March 1915; discharged (disciplinary: services no longer required), Melbourne, 15 April 1915. Medals forfeited. |
