Military Medal 'During a counter-attack near MERRIS on 30th June, 1918 Lance Corporal QUINN with his Lewis gun was covering the advance of his platoon when temporary disorganisation occurred owing to the platoon N.C.Os., two Sergeants and two Corporals, being wounded by the heavy enemy fire. Lance Corporal QUINN whilst continuing to fight his Lewis gun took charge of his platoon, re-organised and led them forward a further 150 yards, drove out the enemy, consolidated and held the position. By his leadership and courage he saved the situation.'
