War service: Egypt, Western Front Wounded in action, 25 September 1917. Wounded in action (second occasion), 2 September 1918 (shrapnel wound, both legs: severe). Tried by District Court Martial, 7 May 1919. Found Guilty of Absent without Leave, 10 March-25 April 1919. Sentenced to 40 days' detention.
