Distinguished Conduct Medal 'For conspicuous gallantry and dash during the attack on Estrees on 2 October, 1918. He assumed command of a platoon and led an attack against a building held by the enemy. He captured the building and thus enabled the rest of the village to be cleared with little opposition.'
