Meritorious Service Medal 'During the period September, 1917 to February, 1918, as a Sergeant, this N.C.O. displayed gret enthusiasm, several times soing particularly fine work in the line while on patrol. At all times he has displayed cool judgment and fearlessmess in the execution of his duty. As C.Q.M.S. during recent tours in the line he has never failed to get the rations up to his Company, personally seeing them right through, in the course of which duty at YPRES he was blown off a limber by a shell, but carried on despite severe shock.'
