Military Medal

'Period, midnight 16th/17th September, 1918, to 11th November, 1918. A Transport Driver worthy of distinction. During the operations at JEANCOURT from 18th to 23rd September, 1918, RAYNER showed exceptional devotion to duty. He again and again took pack animals forwards, in face of heavy shell fire, stimulating his comrades by his cheerful and untiring work. He was indefatigable. A great horse-master with an excellent record.'
