War service: Egypt, Gallipoli Taken on strength, 5th Light Horse Regiment, Gallipoli, 14 November 1915. admitted to 2nd Light Horse Field Ambulance, 16 November 1915 (conjunctivitis); transferred to Hospital Ship, and admitted to St Paul's Hospital, Malta, 24 November 1915 (debility); transferred to Spinola Camp,, 7 December 1915; discharged to Active Service from All Saints' Convalescent Camp, 4 March 1916. Admitted to 3rd Australian General Hospital (date not recorded); transferred to No 1 Auxiliary Hospital, 29 March 1916. Commenced return to Australia from Suez on board HT 'Armadale', 21 May 1916, for discharge (defective vision).
