Military Medal

'For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. In the advance on PASCHENDAELE Ridge, north east of YPRES, on 26th September, 1917, he was in charge of a Stoke's Ammunition carrying party in the attack on enemy position. He kept the front line guns supplied with ammunition the whole period the guns were in the line. His great coolness, courage, and ability, under very heavy fire inspired his party with great confidence.'
