Military Medal 'This man is one of the Battalion linesmen. During the evening of the 29th August, 1916, he ran some six wires across country avoiding all communication trenches between Advanced Brigade Headquarters, north of POZIERES, and the front firing line. At intervals during the succeeding 48 hours, he made constant trips over this area for the purpose of mending the lines. This area was constantly shelled, and at times when he went forward to mend the lines, was heavily barraged.'
