Meritorious Service Medal 'Throughout the period 25th February 1918 to Night 16th/17th September, 1918, Bombardier RICHARDS has filled the position of Quarter-Master Sergeant to his Battery. At al times this Non Commissioned Officer has shown great tact and decision in dealing with the many problems with which he has been faced, and his work has been of the greatest assistance to his Commanding Officer. He has performed his duties with marked ability, and has displayed untiring energy and devotion to duty throughout the period under review.'
