Military Medal 'Near STRAZEELE Station East of HAZEBROUCK on night of 12/13 June during the successful attack on enemy positions Private ROBERTS' platoon was engaged at 70 yards by a strong enemy post supported by a Machine Gun. At great personal risk Private ROBERTS pushed forward over 40 yards under heavy fire, and from a flank engaged the post while Corporal WALTERS and Private ROBINS crept along and bombed the postion. The skill and courage of Private ROBERTS enabled the post to be approached and bombed and the Machine Gun and garrison of the post captured. The action of Corporal WALTERS and Private ROBERTS assisted materially the effective consolidation of the captured position.'
