Military Medal 'On 12th October 1917, East of YPRES, he displayed conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty in action. For over fifty hours, this man dressed and attended wounded in a very exposed position under continual heavy fire. His unfailing cheerfulness and courage under exceptionally trying circumstances were of great assistance to the wounded.'
