Military Medal 'On the afternoon of 23.9.17 while carrying a wounded man from the R.A.P. in GLENCORSE WOOD to Relay post a stretcher squad was caught in a very heavy area bombardment. A shell burst right in this squad killing the patient instantly and very severely wounding three of the bearers, the Fourth being ............. .............away. After assisting to bring in the wounded this man without hesitation went back to the area under fire to search for the missing man. After half an hours search this man was discovered dead of his wounds. Boardman risked his own life in his effort to locate and ..... and to give aid to his wounded comrade. By his splendid heroism, he set a fine example to his fellow stretcher bearers - since this date while on duty, this man has been seriously wounded.'
