Military Medal 'On the night of 29th/30th September, 1917, when employed on engineer services driving his wagon during heavy shelling, he noticed the wagon in his rear had been abandoned owing to the Driver (RODD) being wounded necessitating his evacuation to Dressing Station. ROBINSON, although severely shaken by a shell which exploded severely wounding the Infantry Loader on his seat beside him also wounding one of his pair horses and splintering his wagon, jumped down and attached RODD's loaded wagon to the rear of his own, and after several attempts, with very skilled driving, he got clear and after passing through very heavy shell fire managed to dump both loads. This occurred in the forward area - vicinity WESTHOEK.'
