Military Medal 'On the night of 31st January/1st February, 1918 at MOAT FARM, West of DEULMONT, he was in charge of a Lewis Gun and team, which formed part of a Fighting Patrol. By his gallantry and devotion to duty and the cool and skilful handling of his Lewis gun, he enabled the Patrol to successfully deal with 2 enemy parties, twice its own strength, and to capture one unwounded prisoner without our party suffering any casualties. Strength of Party - 1 Officer and 19 Other Ranks.'
