Distinguished Conduct Medal 'For conspicuous courage and resource between Vauvillers and Lihons, 9 August, 1918. During heavy casualties to officers and men he controlled the company and brought it to its objective. Later, he collected a party, and, under heavy fire, succeeded in repelling a determined counter attack.'
