Embarked Alexandria to join the British Expeditionary Force, 26 March 1916; disembarked Marseilles, France, 2 April 1916. Wounded in action, 25 July 1916 (gun shot wound, chest), and admitted to No 1 Australian Field Ambulance, and then to No 3 Casualty Clearing Station. Died of wounds, 25 July 1916.
