Admitted to hospital, 28 February 1919; transferred to England and admitted to Fulham Military Hospital, 12 March 1919. Discharged from hospital, and granted Non-Military Employment (full pay and allowances) to work on oil engines at E.W. Lovely & Co. Ltd., Cavendish Place, Eastbourne. Married Catherine Helena LOBB, 14 June 1919.

Commenced return to Australia on board 'Themistocles', 22 December 1919; disembarked Sydney, 9 February 1920; discharged, 2 April 1920.
