Military Medal 'Near WARNETON, during a raid on the enemy, on the night 30th November/1st December 1917, this man displayed great courage and did excellent work with the Bayonet. He pursued the enemy who had got out of their trench and were running away, and killed several. On one occasion he closed with a German in the trench and succeeded in killing him. Strength of Raiding party - 4 Officers and 82 Other Ranks.'
