'Near STRAZEELE Railway Station East of HAZEBROUCK of 12/13 June 1918 during the successful attack on enemy positions Private ROGERS displayed great courage and ability in the attack. By his determination and initiative in the use of his Lewis Gun he successfully wiped out the garrison of the enemy posted in a copse, who were in a position to successfully hold up the advance. Later in the fight Private ROGERS pushed forward into enemy posts regardless of danger to himself, seized and brought in two enemy Machine Guns. The good work of this soldier was of the greatest value to his attacking platoon, and materially helped in its success.'
