Wounded in action, 2 November 1915 (serious gun shot wound, buttock), and admitted to 13th Casualty Clearing Station; transferred to Egypt from Mudros on board HS 'Galeka'; disembarked, Alexandria, 9 November 1915, and admitted to 21st General Hospital; discharged to Ras el Tin Convalescent Hospital, 27 November 1915; discharged to Overseas Base, Mustapha, 30 December 1915. Admitted to 1st Dermatological Hospital, Abbassia, 18 February 1916; discharged from hospital, 28 February 1916; total period of treatment for venereal disease: 10 days. Taken on strength, 1st Light Horse Training Regiment, 8 March 1916.
