Military Medal 'This man is brought to notice for his conduct during the enemy counter-attack against our position near HEBUTERNE on the 5th April 1918. Whilst the preliminary bombardment was in progress he attended to the requirements of wounded men; saw to their comfort, and assisted in removing them to places of safety, when the enemy attack developed, and a lodgment had been effected in a Communication trench leading into our lines, he, with great courage and determination, led a Bombing attack up the trench; inflicted casualties, and ejected the enemy. He was a very considerable factor in the discomfiture of the enemy on this occasion. He is recommended for distinction.'
