'Near CHUIGNOLLES during the attack on 23rd August, 1918 Sgt. ROSEBY was with the Brigade Forward Station. When the party became scattered owing to the heavy shelling he collected them and took them to the site for the forward station, established the station and assisted to lay and maintain lines to the forward units under heavy shell fire. He set a splendid example to all connected with him, and it was due to his untiring energy and great personal courage that he was successful in maintaining communication throughout the attack.'
