Meritorious Service Medal 'During the period from 17th September, 1918, to 31st December, 1918, this Warrant Officer has rendered most valuable services to his Battalion. During the operations at BELLICOURT from 29th September, 1918, to 2nd October, 1918, he performed the most gallant and valuable services in maintaining a steady supply of ammunition, food and water from Battalion Headquarters to the front line; in carrying out this work he several times personally led parties forward under heavy shell fire. This Warrant Officer has served in the Battalion since the formation; as a Sergeant and later as a Company Quartermaster Sergeant he has rendered most valuable services and has taken part on several occasions in various Major Operations in which the Battalion has been concerned.'
