Military Medal 'During the operations by the 32nd Battalion near BELLICOURT between 29th September and 1st October 1918, this man displayed great gallantry and devotion to duty. As a stretcher bearer he showed great gallantry throughout, repeatedly going into the open, under heavy shell and machine gun fire, dressing wounded. He was always the first to volunteer for dangerous tasks, and throughout showed an utter disregard for his own personal safety. His willingness, energy and untiring devotion to duty were an example to all.'
