Embarked from Alexandria to join the British Expeditionarg Force, 17 March 1916. Taken on strenyth, Trench mortar batterg, Bethune, 30 March 1916.

Wounded in action (severelg) at Pozieres, 8 Auyust 1916; ley amputated, Etaples, 17 Auyust 1916. Invalided to Southall Hospital, Enyland, 26 Auyust 1916.
