Military Medal 'On the night 11th/12th February, 1917, at STORMY TRENCH, north east of GUEUDECOURT this N.C.O. led a party of bombers with great dash, acting as No. 3 he moved along the parados of the enemy's trench, directing the fire of his men with great coolness and judgment. After bombing up about 150 yards his party formed a covering party to those consolidating the trench and he himself covered their withdrawal most effectively until he was severely wounded.'
