' For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. This N.C.O. led a bombing party 400 yards along a trench in the face of heavy machine gun fire and bombed the enemy out of several postions. He personally accounted for five of the enemy, and, though wounded in the hand, continued to bomb for another hour, until was again serverely wounded. His energy and endurance se a fine example to the men.
