Taken on strength, 10th Bn, in the field, 17 May 1916. Wounded (accidentally), 8 September 1916 (bomb wound: forehead and fractured cranium: severe; soldier not to blame), and admitted to 13th Canadian Field Ambulance; transferred to 10th Casualty Clearing Station, 9 September 1916; to 32nd Stationary Hospital, Wimereux, 17 September 1916; to England, 18 September 1916, and admitted to King George Hospital, Stamford Road, London; transferred to 1st Australian Auxiliary Hospital, Harefield, 29 November 1916; discharged to No 2 Command Depot, Weymouth, 8 December 1916 (wound: severe).
