Embarked Sydney, 25 November 1916; failed to re-embark Capetown, 26 December 1916; embarked Capetown, 28 December 1916; disembarked Devonport, Eng;land, 29 January 1917.

Found guilty, 6 March 1917, of being absent from parade, 1 am, 2 March, to 10 pm, 5 March 1917: awarded 7 days' Field Punishment No 2, and forfeited a total of 11 days' pay.

Proceeded overseas to France, 2 July 1917; taken on strength, 36th Bn, in the field, 19 July 1917.

Reported missing in action, 12 October 1917.

Now, 6 March 1918, posted 'Killed in action, 12 October 1917.'

Statement, Red Cross file, 5084A Pte C. RICHARDSON, 36th Bn, 10 January 1918: 'He was shot through the head and to all appearances [was] quite dead. I rolled him over and made an examination and came to the conclusion.'
