Distinguished Conduct Medal 'During the period September-November 1918, he displayed marked gallantry in action and devotion to duty at all times. During the operations near Vendelles in September he volunteered on one occasion to cut the enemy wire to allow our troops to pass through, and in a subsequent attack contributed in a large measure to the success of his company.'
