Meritorious Service Medal 'This N.C.O. has performed the duties of clerk on the 5th Australian Divisional Artillery headquarters for a considerable time, including the period February to September 1918 and has at all times been keen and energetic in his duties WHICH HAVE been exacting and continuous during the recent operations. His work has always been of very high standard, though often performed under most trying and pressing circumstances. His service has been meritorious and is deserving of special recognition.'
