Embarked Melbourne on HMAT 'Ulysees', 25 October 1916; disembarked Plymouth, 28 December 1916; marched into Larkhill, 29 December 1916; moved out from Larkhill, 16 May 1917; marched into Boyton, 18 May 1917. Proceeded to France through Southampton, 1 September 1917; marched into Australian General Base Depot, Rouelles, 2 September 1917; moved out to field, 4 September 1917; taken on strength of 2nd Divisional Ammunition Column, 7 September 1917. Transferred to 2nd Divisional Trench Mortar Brigade, 9 September 1917, and taken on strength of V2/A Battery, 10 September 1917.

Admitted to 7th Field Ambulance, 21 September 1917 (shrapnel wound, left shoulder); discharged to unit, 5 October 1917.

Admitted to 7th Field Ambulance, 23 November 1917 (gas attack); transferred to 53rd Casualty Clearing Station, 23 November 1917; to 64th Casualty Clearing Station, 29 November 1917; admitted to 2nd Australian General Hospital, Boulogne, 2 December 1917.
