Military Medal

'This N.C.O. displayed great bravery and devotion to duty during the operations near MORLANCOURT, South West of ALBERT on night 28th/29th July 1918 while in charge of 'B' Company Signallers both during the attack and particularly the night after the attack. The telephone lines were cut many times by shell fire, but this N.C.O. at once, utterly disregarding danger and at great personal risk, mended the breaks and was instrumental in keeping his Company in touch with Battalion headquarters.'
